All the knitted goods from Tree of warmth and table will go to Lakota Reservation; the clothes rack will go to Ruston Elementary School for children. This is a yearly mission effort for Trinity. scarves, gloves, hats for winter. We also contribute funds for heat.
This is a group that provides funds for the needs of our churches here in the (US) and internationally. For example, when the hurricane hit Puerto Rico, money was sent to help rebuild.
Toys for Tots
A yearly mission effort to help gather toys for underprivileged families so as to have something for their children on Christmas morning. Every year Trinity joins forces with the CFD 2 Fire District to gather as many toys as possible.
The Sun Star Mission is located in the village of Kyle, South Dakota, which is about 1,100 souls. The church is a couple hundred yards from the Little Wound School and Lil’ Angels’ Convenience Store. there is a small grocery store. a a small coffee shop, and a clinic. Otherwise, there isn’t much in the way of businesses. Kyle is over 20 miles from the nearest village. it is one of the most remote towns in the Lower 48. The nearest off-reservation town, Martin, has more businesses but it’s over 35 miles away. The Badlands National Park border is about 15 or 20 miles north.
One of the aspects of being a member of a church is the desire to be involved in the community we live in. Father Ernie Pinto is the Chaplain for the Fire Department and it was through his activity there that he discovered an Elementary school where they had a need for food for their pantry. He brought that need to the parishioners at Trinity Anglican and now we are collecting food for them. This is a task that we find great joy in doing. Next delivery will be December 22nd 2020
